DJ Shug is a native New Yorker that started spinning at the young age of 13 in a cousin’s basement. At age 16, Shug became fully immersed in the profession, joining WSJU Radio in St. John’s University, NY. Shug worked diligently to hone his craft and after only one year, became the #1 urban DJ at the station, mixing during the primetime afternoon hours from 3 to 5 and hosting the 3 hour morning show “The Shugah Shack” from 1995 to 2000!

Shug spins many genres of music and proves every time out why he is in high demand. Specializing in Top 40, Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Dancehall, Reggae, Soca, Afrobeats, Classics, Oldies, & Latin – Shug is a true student and master of all types of music!

DJ Shug has spun at all of the premiere clubs in NYC including B.B. Kings, Cheetah, MARS 2112, Supper Club & The Shadow to name a few. Shug has appeared on several NYC radio stations over the years including a few appearances on Hot 97’s Street Soldiers. Also in high international demand – Shug has spun at premiere events such as Merengue Soulfest in the Dominican Republic, Carnival in Trinidad & Tobago. Other countries that Shug has spun or hosted events in include Morrocco, Columbia, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico and Canada! Need Shug in the U.S.?
